our workshop
made's workshop is in Karen in Nairobi. We currently employ over 30 full time workers, all of whom receive a fair wage. In addition to their salaries, each worker receives free hot meals on duty, medical assistance and free transportation to and from work.
All made workers own a stake in the workshop and benefit from net profits generated from the workshop.
Separately, 5% of the workshop's net profits go into a fund for various community projects, such as improving sanitation in slum areas, helping local schools and general medical assistance. This fund is run by the workers.
made's long-term mission is to continue empowering impoverished communities by building a network of similar workshops across East Africa.
